Crash backs up morning commute

Both motorcycle and a pickup truck driver found OK

A traffic crash just north of Tacoma Avenue on McLoughlin Boulevard (99E) backed up the morning commute into Portland through the streets of Milwaukie along Main Street and Highway 224.

Portland Police asked Milwaukie Police to divert traffic to Johnson Creek Boulevard and 17th Avenue after responding to the 7:19 a.m. crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the northbound lanes of McLoughlin in the Eastmoreland neighborhood.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and were able to locate both drivers. The motorcycle rider, who was conscious and alert at the scene, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The pickup driver reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Delays were at least an hour as investigators were at the scene processing evidence and conducting interviews.
