Aries Apparel, the only specialty female athletic apparel, equipment and accessories retailer in the Portland area, will hold the grand opening of its newest location this week at Clackamas Town Center.

Aries will celebrate with daily “Olympic deals” in honor of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The new location offers girls and women of all athletic abilities the broadest year-round selection of sport-specific athletic apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories in addition to general workout wear.

The Clackamas store is the second location for the Oregon-owned business. Aries opened its first location in Hillsboro in 2008 in response to a “void” in the local marketplace for a retail business focusing on the needs of the active female athlete from the recreational level to serious competitive athletes.

“We are so thrilled to open this new store,” said owner Diana Marsden. “With so many of our loyal customers residing on the eastside of the city, it was important that our new location meet their needs; the Clackamas Town Center mall environment and freeway proximity made a perfect fit for the second Aries.”

While the opening marks the second brick-and-mortar location, Aries hosts more than 80 pop-up stores at sports tournaments, clinics and competitions each year.

Aries carries everything from sports bras, gloves, jewelry, headbands, scarves, socks, hats, water bottles and bags as well as sport-specific accessories such as goggles, kneepads, glove oil, braces and ankle guards and shin guards. Hundreds of athletic brands are found within the store including Nike, Asics, Puma, Danskin, Mizuno, Enell, Champion, Wilson, Moving Comfort, Speedo, Under Armour, Brooks, Adidas, STX and Aries Apparel.

The new store is at 12130 S.E. 82nd Ave. near REI, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and employs seven associates including manager Janice Kiser.
