The North Clackamas School District said last week that eight schools will get new principals in the fall.

Christine Garcia will be the new interim principal at Clackamas High School, responsible for leadership of the district's largest high school while Matt Utterback serves as interim superintendent.

Garcia's experience includes time as the principal of Happy Valley Elementary and Alder Creek Middle School, as well as experience as assistant principal at Rex Putnam High School.

Happy Valley Middle School’s new principal is Emily Behunin, replacing Chris Boyd, who has taken the role of Associate Director of Secondary Programs. Previously Behunin was assistant principal at Clackamas High School’s East Campus and assistant principal at Alder Creek Middle School.

John Brooks is the new principal at Rock Creek Middle School. He brings to the role experience as Assistant Principal at Alder Creek Middle School, administration at Rex Putnam High School. He began his education career as a social studies teacher at Milwaukie High School.

At Rowe Middle School, Courtney Ross, former assistant principal at the school, will take the leadership role, replacing Larry Becker, who retired in June. Ross has taught in Beaverton middle schools. She also spent a year teaching in Mexico.

Dean Long will serve as principal at Happy Valley Elementary. Previously, he served as principal at both Concord Elementary and Oregon Trail Elementary.

At Concord Elementary, Karon Webster will be principal. Most recently she served as principal at Linwood and Sojourner elementary schools.

Replacing Webster at Linwood Elementary and Sojourner School is Amy Busch, who finished her second year as assistant principal at Rock Creek Middle School. Previously Busch was assistant principal at Lot Whitcomb Elementary and Milwaukie High School.
