Oregon State Police is continuing the investigation into early Sunday morning's serious-injury crash involving a vehicle and two pedestrians crossing Highway 99E at Park Avenue south of Milwaukie. OSP is seeking any witnesses to this crash to help with the investigation.

On Oct. 28 at approximately 1:37 a.m., a man and woman were walking from the east side of McLoughlin Boulevard to west side at the intersection of Park Avenue. As they were positioned in the left southbound lane they were struck by a southbound 2007 Dodge Charger four-door driven by Sandra Kay Brewster, 48, from Milwaukie.

Both pedestrians received serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries and were transported by AMR ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University. They were identified as Quincy L. Young, 31, from Southeast Portland, and Talitha M. Bliven, 29, from Gresham.

Initial investigation led OSP to arrest Brewster for driving under the influence of intoxicants, and two counts each of assault in the third degree and of recklessly endangering another person.

The intersection is controlled by electrical turn signals with marked crosswalks and area overhead street lighting.

OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Trooper Alex Monarch is the lead investigator. OSP has not found any independent witnesses to this crash and is asking anyone with information to call 503-731-3020 ext 477.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Clackamas County Fire District 1. The southbound lanes were closed about 90 minutes during the scene response and investigation.
