Wells Fargo is closing its mortgage offices in Clackamas as it hires up to 90 full-time underwriters to serve the Portland area from a 50,000-square-foot office building near Portland International Airport.

The bank plans to move its operations from the Sunnyside Road office building near the Clackamas Town Center mall to the new office that is much larger and can accommodate growth nearly doubling mortgage staff.

About 160 people work at the Clackamas site. In May, the company will move to house 400 mortgage employees.

“We will still have hundreds of other team members working in other departments in other locations in Clackamas County,” said Wells Fargo spokesman Tom Unger.

The open positions feature competitive salaries and benefits, Unger said, plus monthly performance incentives and overtime. Foreign language skills are preferred but not necessary.

Most jobs will require candidates to have mortgage loan underwriting experience. Those interested can apply online at wellsfargo.comjobfair.

Wells Fargo will invite those qualified to interviews March 13 and 14.
