Kyle D. Geiszler

Aug. 12, 1977 - March 30, 2013

Kyle D. Geiszler, 35, a resident of the Cornelius community, died March 30, at Legacy Hopewell House in Portland.

He was born on Aug. 12, 1977, in Oregon City, the son of LeeMore L. “Lee” and Gayle (Morris) Geiszler. He was raised and received his education in Oregon City, graduating from Oregon City High School in 1995. After his graduation, he attended Oregon State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in business.

He was united in marriage to Jennifer M. Soares on Aug. 23, 2003, in Oregon City. Following their marriage they made their home in the communities of Hillsboro and Gaston, before settling in Cornelius in 2009, where they have resided since.

Among his special interests, Mr. Geiszler enjoyed writing music, playing guitar, DJ-ing at weddings, water and snow skiing, snowboarding and travel. Most of all he had a special love for his family life, especially spending time with his children.

In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include: his three daughters, Gabriella Andra Geiszler, Juliana Olivia Geiszler and Adelina Sofia Geiszler; his brother, Troy Geiszler; his in-laws, Antonio and Maria Soares; his sister-in-law, Deanna and Zach Wegner; his aunts and uncles; and his niece, Emma Lynn Wegner.

A celebration of life service was held on Friday, April 5, in Hillsboro, with vault interment following at Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Forest Grove.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Kyle D. Geiszler Memorial Fund, c/o Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, (memo must read “Jennifer Geiszler”), 1390 N.E. 21st Ave., Hillsboro OR 97123, in his memory.

Sarah Potter

Sept. 21, 1932 - March 27, 2013

Sarah Potter, a longtime resident of Vernonia, passed away on March 27, at the age of 80. 

She is survived by: daughter, Shirley Vermeire of Oregon City; sons, Steven, Stuart and Sam Potter; sister, Sadie Gipson; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, David “Sam” Potter, and daughter, Sandra Meyer. 

No service will be held. 

A celebration of life will be at the family home, 658 Weed Ave., Vernonia, on May 26 from noon to 5 p.m.
