CCSO deputy arrested on domestic violence charges

by: CCSO - HeikkilaThe Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office arrested one of its own deputies who has been on administrative leave since November after being accused of domestic violence.

On Thursday, CCSO Corrections Deputy Shawn Heikkila was arrested on unlawful use of a weapon and menacing charges. CCSO officials said the charges are related to “an incident of domestic violence.”

Heikkila was hired by CCSO in 2008, and the allegation of domestic violence was made against him in November.

The CCSO Professional Standards Unit then “conducted a thorough investigation,” CCSO officials stated in a press release.

Sheriff Craig Roberts, thanked investigators for pursuing this case, also expressing “deep disappointment” in Heikkila’s alleged conduct.

CCSO “maintains a zero-tolerance policy with regard to employee-involved domestic violence,” according to the CCSO statement.
