County offers class for women impacted by domestic violence

If you have been emotionally or physically abused by a current or former intimate partner, the Women’s Empowerment Project hopes to help you break the cycle.

Sponsored by Clackamas County Community Corrections, this 14-week free class is designed specifically for women wanting to create healthy violence-free lives. Topics include the cycle of violence, coping mechanisms, effects of abuse on children and safety planning.

Date, time and location of the first class beginning in August will not be revealed publicly for safety reasons. Those interested must be screened by calling Patricia Barrera, county victim services program coordinator, at 503-655-8776.
