Police ask for clues into cemetery's impaled cat
Oregon City police are investigating who last weekend might have impaled a cat on the wrought-iron fence surrounding Mountain View Cemetery, 500 Hilda St.
After receiving a report on Saturday, July 6, just after 5 p.m., patrol officers arrived and found a deceased black, brown and gray tabby cat impaled on the top of the exterior fence near the northwest corner of the cemetery. Police are currently investigating this as an animal-abuse case.
Investigators contacted the Oregon Humane Society, who will be conducting a necropsy on the cat sometime this week to determine cause of death and to scan it for the possibility of a microchip. Investigators are still trying to determine if the cat belonged to anyone in Oregon City.
If you have any information regarding the death of this cat, contact the Oregon City Police Tip Line at 503-496-1616.
