Investigators were unable to determine what caused a house fire that displaced a family of five earlier this week.

by: KOIN 6 NEWS - A two-alarm fire engulfs a home in Oregon City on Tuesday, July 16. Clackamas Fire District No. 1 reported Thursday that due to the extent of the damage, investigators were unable to determine an exact cause and ruled it unintentional. There was also no indication regarding where the fire may have started.

The fire broke out before 3 a.m. on Tuesday at 704 3rd Ave. Crews arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. It took firefighters 90 minutes to bring the fire under control. They were able to keep the blaze from spreading a detached garage. However, the home was declared a complete loss.

The family of two adults and three children had just moved into the home four days prior to the fire. The Red Cross is assisting them with food and supplies.
