Schaleger named OC prosecutor


City Manager David Frasher announced on Friday that he has appointed local attorney Rebecca Schaleger to serve as Oregon City's next municipal prosecutor.

by: CITY OF OC - Rebecca SchalegerThe appointment followed an extensive selection process that included a review of contractor proposals submitted by various attorneys, interviews and reference checks.

Schaleger, a native Oregonian, has been a Clackamas County resident and worked in Oregon City for 14 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Oregon and her law degree from Lewis and Clark. Schaleger was prosecutor with the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office for eight years.

Frasher noted that "Rebecca brings a wealth of prosecutorial experience to this important position. She submitted the strongest proposal among a group of talented candidates. She is fair minded, will bring a fresh perspective, and is very focused on the best interests of the community. We are delighted to have Rebecca on our team!"

Schaleger will begin working for Oregon City on Oct. 1.
