Clackamas firefighters don pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Clackamas Fire District No. 1 supported the efforts of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by Going Pink on Wednesday.
For the duration of Oct. 23, all firefighters, staff, volunteers and board members are sporting pink T-shirts in an effort to raise awareness throughout the community.
In this first year that Clackamas Fire wore pink to support the cause, donations from the Clackamas County Professional Firefighters Local 1159, the Boring/Clackamas Volunteer Firefighters Association and Northwest Safety Clean purchased about 100 T-shirts. The firefighters union also donated $1,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
