Clackamas man named to AARP council


AARP Oregon appointed Clackamas resident Daniel Rodriguez this month among four new members to its volunteer Executive Council for showing outstanding leadership, record of service and a commitment to the goals of the association.

by: AARP - RodriguezRodriguez will serve a two-year term on the eight-AARP-member council to influence policy planning for AARP in Oregon. Currently a member of the inaugural AARP Volunteer Leadership Institute, he also serves on the Oregon State University Board of Visitors.

Trained as an educator, Rodriguez served as a superintendent of schools for 12 years. He earned

his doctorate from Columbia University where he also served as an

associate professor.

A recipient of the Red Cross

Community Service Award, Rodriguez is the outgoing chairman for the AARP Oregon Diversity Advisory Council. He also previously served on the Board of Directors for

the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber in Portland, and as administrator for the State of Oregon Advocacy
