Cities schedule daddy-daughter dances


Valentine’s Day-themed events will provide opportunities for dads and their young daughters to spend some memorable, quality time together.

The Milwaukie Center, 5440 S.E. Kellogg Creek Drive, will have two red-carpet events from 6 to 9 p.m.,including dinner, dessert, dancing and games, Friday, Feb. 7, for dads and daughters 3 to 7 years old; Saturday, Feb. 8, for 8- to 16-year-olds. Residents pay $50 per couple, plus $15 per additional daughter. Nonresidents pay $60 per couple, plus $18 per additional daughter.

OC’s event for sixth grade and under includes dinner by Abernethy Center Catering, dessert, dancing with RJ Mobile Music, keepsake photos and balloon art.

Parks staff in both OC and Milwaukie encourage fathers to bring as many daughters as they have. Maximum capacity often is reached at these events, so they suggest registering early.
