Beavercreek crash severs power to thousands

A suspected drunk driver who crashed into a power pole in the Beaver Creek community of Clackamas County knocked out power to than 3,000 PGE customers for several hours Tuesday morning.

by: CLACKAMAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - A car collided into a power pole in Clackamas County early Tuesday morning, knocking out power to more than 3,000 PGE customers. The driver was drunk, police said.The collision occurred at about 3:20 a.m. at South by: CCSO - RosenlofBeavercreek Road, near Dans Avenue. According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the 2000 Cadillac Seville sheared off the power pole, bringing down power lines onto the road.

According to PGE’s website, 3,077 customers were left without power. As of 10 a.m., only about 100 customers were still without electricity.

The driver, 23-year-old Kyle Rosenlof of Beavercreek, was not hurt. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on driving under the influence of intoxicants.
