Sunny Burden and Ramsey Zawideh recently opened the Portland area's fifth Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries location in Clackamas.

Located at 9993 S.E. 82nd Ave., just south of Johnson Creek and Otty Road, the new shopping center also includes Goodwill and Aspen Dental.

Burden and Zawideh, both lifelong restaurateurs, currently own and operate a seven restaurants in the Portland area, including four Baja Fresh Mexican Grills.

“We were impressed by the offerings and the quality of the Boardwalk brand” Burden said. Zawideh chimed in: “Boardwalk has the best fresh-cut fries anywhere and has been serving these same fries since 1981.”

Their restaurant has an atmosphere that attempts to evoke thoughts of oceanfronts and boardwalks one may have once known. Burden and Zawideh also operate the Boardwalk in Jantzen Beach serving fresh, never-frozen 100 percent Black Angus beef, hand-cut French fries, veggie burgers, frozen custard, shakes and more.

"We already have many regular customers, and we’ve received many compliments on our food, staff and décor,” Burden said. "Our fries are so good, we like to say we serve fresh fries, not French fries," Zawideh added.

With a soft opening this week, they are planning grand-opening activities the week of June 9 with a ribbon cutting, giveaways, and various other special offers and events.

"We'll even have a bounce house free for the kids on Saturday and Sunday, June 14th and 15th," Burden said.
