Going solar now easier for local customers

Oregon City-based Sunlight Solar Energy Inc. believes in educating its clients and empowering them to make informed buying decisions about an abundant alternative energy source for most Oregonians.

Given that the multitude of available information and solar-energy financing options can be daunting, the local company is offering Portland General Electric customers a zero-money-down finance option. The initiative, called Solar Now! Zero Down!, also locks in consumers’ utility rates for 25 years (the average yearly increase is currently 4.5 percent).

Sunlight Solar spokeswoman Kim Wilson expects the zero-down option to create an “explosion” in solar-power demand. In the past, financial investments required to install solar systems restricted some interested consumers.

“The new initiative eliminates barriers for Oregonians who felt that a solar power system was financially out of reach,” Wilson said. “Now they can have solar power without the stress of an upfront investment.”

Sunlight Solar’s customized consultations can help you determine if your home is a good fit for solar and estimate projected savings through solar. Due to highly diverse variables such as family size, time of day homes are unoccupied, and other factors, homes in the same neighborhood can have very different energy usage needs.

Interested homeowners are encouraged to contact Sunlight Solar as soon as possible to set up a free consultation. For more information, call 503-705-9550, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or visit sunlightsolar.com.
