MPD: More of Karsten's victims coming forward

More victims bravely stepped forward to add more charges for the man accused of sexually abusing 12-year-old girls at his Milwaukie home, police said last week.

by: MPD - KarstenJason James Karsten, 41, was indicted May 22 by a Clackamas County jury on first-degree sex-abuse charges. After a call to the public for more victims to come forward, Milwaukie police said victims came forward who hadn’t previously reported the abuse that they had experienced from Karsten.

Milwaukie Police Department spokeswoman Ulli Neitch said the ages of the victims have not been released — it is unclear whether the additional victims are children or adults, and when the crimes occurred.

Still, investigators are concerned yet more people have been abused by Karsten. Milwaukie police are once again calling on anyone with information regarding Karsten, or any acts of sexual violence he may have committed, to contact the department at 503-786-7500.

In May, Karsten’s neighbors told KOIN Local 6 that Karsten is a family man with a wife and children of his own and is the last person they believe would be accused of such actions.

Karsten’s bail is set at $250,000.
