Sixteen dancers from North Clackamas, Oregon City and Gladstone will perform in Classical Ballet Academy's productions of "Don Quixote" and "Visions" during the weekend of May 19 through 21.

Local students include Oregon City High School junior Grace Didway, Zoe Mattaz of Cascade Heights Public Charter School; John Wetten Elementary's Kaylee Eisal; Rowe Middle School's Kiana Richardson, Anna Nielsen and Sophia Nielsen; Clackamas Web Academy's Chloe Erlandson, Calla Lichtenwalter, Etta Partridge, Ruby Staczek and Ainsley Van Hook; Anna Wright of Clackamas High School; Kyra Richardson of Milwaukie High School; Hailey Olson of Kraxberger Middle School; La Salle Prep's Samantha Harrison and Gabriella Gately; and Alliance Charter Academy's Lily Trimble, Luke Burton and Natazia Head.

Featuring fancy footwork, authentic Spanish-flavored dance and comic interludes, "Don Quixote" is based on Cervantes' iconic Spanish novel. Choreographed by Classical Ballet Academy Director Sarah Rigles, the tale follows an elderly adventurer on his search for his idyllic woman, Dulcinea, only to be caught between the budding romance of temperamental Kitri and mischievous Basilio.

"Visions" is a contemporary, modern, jazz, fusion and hip hop showcase at 8 p.m. Friday, May 20, at Lincoln Hall, Portland State University, 1620 S.W. Park Ave. "Don Quixote" will be performed there at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 20, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21. Tickets (purchased through pdx.edu/boxoffice/home or by calling 503-725-3307) are $24 for adults, $17 for seniors 65 or older and youth ages 10-17, and $13 for ages 2-9.
