A youth-theater production will run for one weekend, May 18-21, at Alder Creek Middle School, just east of Milwaukie city limits on Highway 224.
Journey Theater Arts Group will present "High School Musical 2 Jr" with cast and crew made up of kids ages 8 to 18.
Friendships will be tested, summer romances go haywire, and the meaning of success will be redefined in the buoyant sequel following favorite characters from the orginal Disney "High School Musical" as they face the realities of the adult world and begin to grow up. The gang is back for an action-packed summer as Troy, Gabriella and the rest of the Wildcats finish their junior year at East High. At the Lava Springs Country Club, the popular girl, Sharpay, reigns supreme while the rest of the Wildcats have to work summer jobs.
Troy Bolton is played by Draven Carrere, Cassidy Burton plays Gabriella Montez, Lexie Moormann plays Sharpay, and Ben Kautz plays Ryan Evans.
Performances are 7 p.m. May 18-21, with 2 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday, at Alder Creek Middle School, 13801 S.E. Webster Road, Milwaukie.
