Trejo, a star forward for the Cavaliers, was among eleven players named to the 2012 Class 6A boys first team. Leibner, who played defense for Putnam, was among 12 players named to the 2012 Class 5A girls first team.

Trejo (28 goals, 9 assists) was the top offensive player for Clackamas this past season, as the Cavaliers reached the Class 6A state semifinals; Leibner helped lead Putnam to its second consecutive appearance in the Class 5A quarterfinals.

Clackamas girls had three players receive Class 6A soccer all-state honors, as the Cavaliers advanced a girls team to a state final for the very first time. Clackamas senior forward/midfielder Sam Moultrie and Cavalier sophomore defender/midfielder Cassie Haehlen were selected to the Class 6A girls second team, and Clackamas sophomore defender Riley Mitchell received honorable mention.

Putnam junior goalkeeper Bella Geist was selected to the Class 5A girls second team.

Defense was pivotal to the Kingsmen’s success this fall, as they held opponents to a goal a game en route to a 9-4-2 record.

Moultrie (4 goals, 3 assists), Haehlen (8 goals, 4 assists) and Mitchell helped lead Clackamas girls to the Class 6A girls state final.

“Cassie was our leading goal scorer up top,” said Clackamas coach Aimee Mansoor. “She’s athletic, has a physical presence, and is very dominant in the air.... With two more years in our program, I’m excited to see what she can do.”

“Sam set the tone for us this year,” Mansoor said. “A dominant ball-winner in the middle of the field, Sam was a great distributor and a tough player to defend. A two-year team captain, she was key to our success this season. Her competitive nature, her heart and her devotion to this team will never be forgotten.”

Mansoor said of Mitchell: “Riley really stepped up for us this year. She played center back and was a standout in many games. She’s tough, she’s got good speed, she’s a leader, and she’s a great defensive player, with a good foot. As our set-piece taker, she was another key to our offense.”
