This year’s Oregon 6A State-Metro Softball Series will have a local flavor.

Clackamas coach Dave Just is head coach of the Metro All-Star Team and three of his players are on the team — Mariah Scholes (first base/DP), Missy Noble (outfield/first base) and Vanessa Oakden (catcher/DP).

Oregon City’s Stefanie Snow (catcher/outfield) is also on the team, along with Briana Barzola (outfield) of West Linn.

The Metro team features graduating seniors from the Metro, Three Rivers and Mt. Hood leagues. They’ll play a State team made up of players from the Southern, Pacific and Central Valley leagues.

The series double-header is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, at West Linn’s Rosemont Ridge Middle School.

The series is a benefit for the Portland Police Sunshine Division. In lieu of an admission charge, event organizers request that fans bring donations of nonperishable food.
