Amateur boxing in Oregon City
Amateur Boxing will come to Oregon City on Saturday, July 27, when Full Blooded Fighter clothing and promotor Curtis Frost host a USA Boxing event. The competition is slated for The Annex, at 1703 Beavercreek Rd., beginning at 5 p.m.
Doors open at 4 p.m., with over 10 bouts on the card, according to Frost. Tickets will be on sale at the door, at $15 for adults and $10 for those 17-and-under.
Two Oregon City boxers will be among those competing. The co-main event will feature a 135-pound bout between Oregon City 21-year-old Bryan Sanchez and Juan Tellez of Salems 503 Boxing Club. Tellez is undefeated in four boxing matches; Sanchez is 6-1 in mixed martial arts and 1-0 in boxing.
Another bout will showcase Oregon City 21-year-old Scott Kaady, making his boxing debut.
The event will feature a raffle, with proceeds going to Oregon City Community Schools youth sports programs, according to Frost.
Frost says that eight Oregon City businesses are event sponsors and they have all donated items to the raffle, including: Stitch-n-Embroidery, Max Muscle Sports Nutrition, Pooh Bears Place Family Child Care, D&K Pest Control, Luckys Supreme Tattoos, Third Eye Jui-Jitsu, Living Art Photography and Warpath Boxing.
Frost said that Full Blooded Fighter will host another amateur boxing event in September, and future events are in the planning stages for mixed martial arts and Muay Thai competitions.
