Sports boosters meet

Milwaukie High School baseball coach Phil Marchant encourages Milwaukie sports enthusiasts to attend a meeting on Monday, Nov. 18, to discuss a hitting facility and fieldhouse planned for Lake Road, to be used by Milwaukie High School and the community.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the high school commons.

“This facility will be used by MHS baseball, MHS softball, junior baseball and junior softball,” Marchant said. “We believe that having this facility will greatly improve all of these programs.”

“Please attend if you can,” Marchant said. “We need support from the entire baseball and softball community to make this happen.”

Marchant said the North Clackamas School District is helping fund the project with money from the last school district bond, but Milwaukie High School and youth programs are required to contribute $60,000 towards the project.

Marchant said the structure will be a 60-by-100-foot steel building and additional money and in-kind donations from area businesses will be needed to add batting cages to the building.

Prospective donors can reach Marchant through email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
