Oregon City High School graduates Rachel Roberts and Heather Winslow continue to gain recognition for their achievements in softball.
Roberts, a sophomore second baseman for Pacific University, and Winslow, a junior utility player for Willamette University, last week were honored as National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-West Region all-stars.
Roberts was named to the All-West Region first team of all-stars and Winslow was named to the second team.
Earlier, Roberts had been named the Northwest Conference Player of the Year, while Winslow was a unanimous first-team all-conference selection.
Roberts had a phenomenal year in 2014, stealing a NCAA Division III leading and school record 46 bases, and maintaining a .468 batting average, with a school record 58 hits in 38 games.
Winslow this season had a team-leading .420 batting average and 50 hits (16 for extra bases), slugging percentage (.605), on-base percentage (.543), stolen bases (25) and runs scored (39). Her stats rank her second all-time in Willamettes single season record books for on-base percentage, third for doubles (12) and runs scored, fourth for hits and fifth for stolen bases.
