Russell Schneider and the Portland Raiders have aspirations of winning a league title as they gear up for the 2014 Pacific Football League playoffs.

The Raiders (9-1, 7-1), champion of the PFL South Division, enter the playoffs as the top seed. They’ll host the Yakima Mavericks at 6 p.m. Saturday (July 12) at Pioneer Stadium in a first-round league playoff game. The Mavericks (3-5, 3-5) finished fourth in the PFL North Division.

Schneider, a 2001 graduate of Oregon City High School, is the Raiders’ quarterback and he has led the Raiders to a 10th-in-the-nation ranking for semi-pro football in the Amateur Football Power Rankings.

In a recent game with the Clark County Vipers, Schneider completed 20-of-27 passes for 429 yards and a Northwest semi-pro record 10 touchdowns. The Raiders won that game 87-7.

Admission to Saturday’s playoff game is $10 for adults and $7 for students. Children 12-and-under will be admitted free.
