Olsen received a zero rating from the League of Conservation Voters; Clackamas County elections clerk points out information pertaining to voters is contained in the statewide Voter File

Oregon is famous for all the beautiful scenery and rich natural resources that we are blessed with. When people think of Oregon they envision salmon jumping, Douglas fir trees, and beautiful Mount Hood in the background.

Increasingly, the people I talk to in Clackamas County have come to recognize climate change as a real phenomenon. They see reports of global warming on the news. Coral reefs are endangered and super storms now seem ever more common. Every year seems to break a temperature record. Now is the time to do all we can to protect the environment of Oregon and the world.

As citizens we can do our part by replacing legislators that do not believe in protecting the environment. Alan Olsen is a Canby Republican representing Senate District 20, which includes Oregon City, Canby and parts of Boring, Estacada, Wilsonville and other rural areas of our county. He received a zero rating from the League of Conservation Voters. There are other legislators that got 100 percent from the same organization. Sen. Olsen doesn't seem all that interested in dealing with the major issue of global warming. Now is the time to think about replacing Alan Olsen with someone more in touch with the environment.

Clarification on article

Your article on Nov. 13 contains the paragraph below:

"Hall added that the secretary of state's office has the responsibility to determine if a violation of elections law has occurred, but officials from the Secretary of State's office have not responded to inquiries as to why they didn't ask Hall for Neace's voter registration from 2009-14."

All the information pertaining to voters is contained in the statewide Voter File known as Oregon Centralized Voter Registration (OCVR). State Elections and all county elections offices have access to everything in that file. I don't need to tell State Elections about any voter information, they access it themselves on OCVR.
