American legion honors local firefighter, law officer
Estacada American Legion Carl Douglas Post 74 presented awards to the firefighter and law officer of the year on April 19. The recipients were Robert 'Bob' Morrisey and Ross Gamboa.
Morrisey started with Estacada Fire in 1980 as a volunteer and progressed up the ranks until recently being tabbed the new fire chief.
Gamboa is a member of the law enforcement community in the Mount Hood National Forest. He started his career in 2004 with the U.S. Forest Service and then in 2007, after attaining degrees in Criminal Justice and Land Management Police Training, he was stationed in the Clackamas River District in Estacada.
