Lois A. Wiley

March 28, 1924 — July 26, 2012

Estacada resident Lois A. Wiley, died at a Portland hospital on Thursday, July 26. She was 88.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 30, at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, 29275 S.E. Eagle Creek Road, in Estacada, followed by concluding service and interment at Springwater Cemetery.

Lois A. Swanson was born March 28, 1924, in Homer, La. When she was 1 year old, her family moved to Springwater where she was raised.

Lois graduated from Estacada High School and on June 20, 1942, she married Robert E. Wiley in Astoria. They made their home in Estacada where they raised their family. She worked as a seamstress for Pendleton and Janzen for a time before driving a school bus for the Estacada School District. She also was a contract mail carrier for a time.

Lois enjoyed pinochle, crossword puzzles and watching golf.

She is survived by her sons, Allyn (Tana) Wiley of Eugene and Robin (Diana) Wiley of Estacada; daughters, Patricia (Jerry) Betts of Portland, Dian (Jerry) Anderson of Happy Valley, Janis (Mel) Chase of Estacada and Vicki (Mark) Music of Monmouth; brother, Dan Swanson of Estacada; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Wiley in 2004, brother, Louis Swanson and great grandchild, Jason Wiley.

Estacada Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Ann Pharris

Dec. 29, 1947 — July 27, 2012

Patricia Ann Pharris died at Providence Hospital in Portland on July 27. She was 64.

Pharris was born in Portland and grew up in Estacada. In 1965 she married Roger Pharris, who died in 2006.

In 2008, she was remarried to Les Schafer.

She is survived by her husband, sons James (Tracy) and Terry; and two grandchildren, Matt and Samantha.

A celebration of life is planned from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at 385 S.E. Reagan Hill Loop in Estacada.
