The project’s intent was to improve community safety, create a more sustainable and productive natural area and to provide opportunities for multiple uses by students and residents.

The area is approximately 5 acres and more than 100 volunteers contributed a total of more than 300 volunteer hours.

The time was spent removing trash and invasive species, developing a plan for trail improvement, creating a timber management plan, improving the trail width and grades and mulching the trail surface.
