7-year-old faces unknown disease and family needs financial support

Knowing a fellow community member is in desperate need of help, the Estacada Fire Department is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the station.Josie Jett

The event will cost $5 for adults and $3 for children. All proceeds will go to the Jett family to help with costs associated with their daughter’s medical troubles. Breakfast will include pancakes, eggs and ham.

“We want to be out there and doing things in the community,” Fire Chief Bob Morrisey said. “And this is an entire community response, not just the fire department.”

So far, Bob's Red Mill is donating all of the pancake mix, Boyd's Coffee is donating the coffee, Costco is donating the baked goods and Subway is donating napkins. Beavercreek Telecommunications has also donated a cell phone to the family to use.

To keep the event’s costs low, they are still for donations of ham, eggs, syrup, butter pats, OJ, plates, forks/knives and cups. Primarily, they are looking for cash donations to help buy these supplies.

Donations can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce, the fire station or with Kim Ward at US Bank. For more information, call Connie at 503-819-5339.
