Historic farm hosts Christmas event
Philip Foster Farm reopens for "Christmas in the Country"
While the Philip Foster Farm is typically closed during the winter months, every year one event brings it out of hibernation.
The historic farm, 29912 S.E. Highway 211, Eagle Creek. is celebrating the holidays with its annual Christmas in the Country between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8-9.
Children will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus, and a picture can be purchased and emailed for $5. The event's festivities also include carolers, cookies and cider. Visitors can purchase a Christmas tree or a wreath, being sold by Boy Scouts for a fundraiser.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a camera in order to take a picture with Santa in the barn by a sleigh. The Pioneers store, which was built in 1847, will reopen for business with a variety of toys, crafts, books, rugs, bonnets and more for sale, as well as numerous vendors selling their wares.
