They posed for photos while being joined by their parents at the center of the basketball court, with gift bags in hand and many embraces exchanged. An announcer read off the girls’ favorite team memories, which they had submitted in writing beforehand. by: NEWS PHOTO: LOREN NIBBE - Sam Hammons stands with her parents on senior night. Thanks and special messages to loved ones were also cited, along with plans for the future.

Several of the girls plan to continue playing basketball at the college level while pursuing education in their chosen fields at many of the state’s various universities. Also honored were the foreign exchange students who have participated in the school’s basketball program.

A similar senior night was scheduled to take place Tuesday, Feb. 19 to honor members of the EHS boys varsity basketball team before it hosts Madras for The Rangers’ final home game of the 2012-13 winter sports season.
