Police Log

Information for this column comes from Sandy Police Department public records. The Sandy Police Department provides service in Estacada. Officers recently filed reports on the following incidents.

BURGLARY ATTEMPT

Sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, and 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, someone tried to break into storage units near the 700 block of Industrial Way. The person or persons were not able to enter any units. However, locks were damaged and require replacement. There are no suspects at this time.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION

Police took Brandon Garcia, 19, of Clackamas into custody on a civil detox hold at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, near Southwest Juniper Road and Southwest Lake Shore Drive. Garcia was cited for minor in possession of alcohol and taken to the Hooper Detox Center.

THEFT

A 1995 Dodge truck was stolen from a business near the 500 block of Southeast Short Street sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, and 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. There no suspects at this time.

A security camera was stolen from a business near the 100 block of Highway 224 at 4:22 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. Officers are trying to locate a suspect for questioning.

OTHER INCIDENTS

Around 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had violated his restraining order and forced his way into her home in the 800 block of Northeast Hill Way. The responding officer photographed the damage to her door. The case is pending until contact with the suspect is made.

At noon Monday, Sept. 16, Estacada school staff informed an officer that a runaway juvenile was at the school. The officer talked with the juvenile and contacted the father, who knew the kid was at the school.

At 6:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Southwest Lake Shore Drive. The officers determined that no crime had occurred but gave the two parties involved a domestic violence card.

Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Northwest Wade Street at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. After speaking with the people involved, the officers found that the argument had been verbal and not physical.

n An officer responded to a report of an assault at 8:47 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, in the 700 block of North Broadway Street. The officer could not find any witnesses and felt unable to prove a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. He sent a report to the Clackamas County District Attorney’s office for consideration.

A caller told police that a friend had made suicidal comments on Facebook on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Police checked on the man, a resident of the 700 block of North Broadway Street. The man told police he didn’t want to harm himself but also made conflicting statements. Evidence around the home led the responders to believe that he was likely to hurt himself after they left. The man was placed under a police officer hold and taken to a hospital.

Around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, during a routine patrol, an officer came across two people arguing in the parking lot on the southeast corner of the intersection of Southeast Broadway Street and Highway 224. Though the officer was unable to determine that a crime had occurred, he warned them about disorderly conduct. They left separately after the warning.

An officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Southwest Lake Shore Drive at 10:24 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. After taking statements from the two parties involved, the officer determined that no crime had occurred.
