Police Log

Information for this column comes from Sandy Police Department public records. The Sandy Police Department provides service in Estacada. Officers recently filed reports on the following incidents.

ARRESTS

An officer saw Jose E. Garcia, 28, of Eagle Creek, near the intersection of Highway 224 and South Broadway Street at 11:01 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14.

The officer knew that there was an active Clackamas County warrant for Garcia’s arrest.

Garcia was arrested and lodged in Clackamas County Jail without bail for parole violation warrants for possession of methamphetamine and third-degree theft.

At about 9:19 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, an officer driving eastbound on Highway 224 near Highway 211 noticed a vehicle without any displayed tail lights. He pulled the vehicle over in the parking lot off Acacia Road near Highway 224. The driver was Daniel A. Ingram, 38, of Colton. Ingram admitted that his license was suspended and he had no insurance. The officer discovered through a records check that there was a no-bail Clackamas County warrant for Ingram’s arrest for failure to appear in court for Contempt of Court. The officer conducted a search and found substances he suspected were heroin and methamphetamine, as well as burglary tools and a loaded, concealed handgun. Ingram was arrested on numerous charges. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail with bail set at $30,000.

THEFT

Sometime between Tuesday, Oct. 15, and Wednesday, Oct. 16, deadbolt locks were stolen from the bathrooms at Wade Creek Park in Estacada. According to city officials, the locks will cost $50 to replace. No suspects.

On Friday, Oct. 18, an Estacada High School student told police that a cell phone had been stolen from a shared locker at the school. Police are investigating.

At 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, a man told police that his Rubbermaid container holding 6-8 cigarettes, a bag of tobacco and a bottle return slip for $6 had been stolen from the McCrae’s Motel parking lot. The man said that he had stopped in the parking lot to have a cigarette and had accidentally left the container there when he rode away on his bicycle.

At 10:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, an officer responded to a report of a stolen wallet in the 400 block of Northwest Zobrist Street. The victim told the officer that his or her debit card had been used after it was stolen. Officers are investigating.

OTHER INCIDENTS

An officer responded to a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of north Broadway Street on Thursday, Oct. 17. Police took a report to document the incident but were unable to prove that an assault had occurred.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, a woman reported that she was worried about her friend. The two were supposed to meet but the woman had received a text that stated that her friend was not allowed to leave the house that day. An officer checked on the friend. The friend told police that she was not scared to be in the home and planned to leave in the morning. However, the officer noted that she seemed uncomfortable in the location. He gave her an option so that she and her children could leave that day, but she declined the offer. The officer was unable to determine whether any crime had been committed.
