Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon was filmed in scenes for her upcoming movie in Eagle Fern Park on Monday, Nov. 4.

That’s right, Eagle Fern Park has joined the list of filming locations for Fox Searchlight Pictures’ “Wild.”

The film is based on Cheryl Strayed’s No. 1 New York Times bestselling memoir of her solo journey hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

Nick Hornby (“An Education,” “High Fidelity”) wrote the screenplay adaptation.

A Fox Searchlight Pictures press release teased the plot with this, “With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed (Reese Witherspoon) has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behavior, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone.”

Jean-Marc Valée is directing the film.

When the movie hits the theaters, watch for a scene with a llama.

Witherspoon posted this photo to her Twitter page with this caption: 'My costar today #dramaticllama#gettingWILD.'“We shot a wonderful scene featuring a llama at Eagle Fern Park,” said “Wild” Publicist Toni Atterbury.

“Least well-behaved member of the ‘Wild’ cast so far? The llama. He moaned, he grumbled, he ate the greenery. This, in spite of the fact that he had his own trailer!” Cheryl Strayed shared on her Facebook and Twitter pages.

Along with Witherspoon, “Wild” stars Thomas Sadoski (HBO’s “The Newsroom”), Michiel Huisman (“World War Z,” HBO’s “Treme”), W. Earl Brown (“The Lone Ranger,” “There’s Something About Mary”), Laura Dern (“Rambling Rose,” “Jurassic Park,” “Enlightened”) and Keene McRae (“CBGB”).

Shooting on location in California and Oregon, “Wild” also will film in Ashland and Bend. Scenes also were filmed at Glenn Otto Park in Troutdale.

In October, Portland-based media outlets announced “Wild” film crews were looking for tattooed, pierced and dreadlocked extras, about 200 of them.
