Police Log

Information for this column comes from Sandy Police Department public records. The Sandy Police Department provides service in Estacada. Officers recently filed reports on the following incidents.

ARREST

Police encountered Danny P. Orszulak, 44, of Estacada behind a business on Friday, Jan. 3. Orszulak had an outstanding Clackamas County warrant for parole violation. He was arrested and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

DAMAGED PROPERTY

On Monday Dec. 30, a man told police his locked mailbox had been pried open during the night in the 500 block of Espinosa Street. He had not heard or seen anyone.

On Monday Dec. 30, a contractor working on a new home in the 1400 block of Northeast Rockwell Drive told police that wires had been cut throughout the site. About $500 worth of damage had been done to the property. There are no suspects.

An officer was dispatched to reports of cut wires in a home in the 1400 block of Northeast Rockwell Drive at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 31. Police are investigating.

EXCLUSION FROM PROPERTY

A woman asked police to ban her 25-year-old son from her home on Saturday, Jan. 4. She told police that her son had not lived at there for six months. The officer told her to contact police if her son came on the property, so an officer could ban him from the property in person. The officer was dispatched to the property when the son arrived later. The son left without incident.

FOUND PROPERTY

A man turned over a bag he had found to police on Monday Dec. 30. The bag had been found near the intersection of Southeast River Mill Road and Veterans Boulevard.

STOLEN VEHICLE

At about 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, a man told police that his 2003 Jeep Liberty had been stolen from in front of his home in the 1300 block of Southwest Lake Shore Drive sometime during the previous night. He told police there was an extra key in the stolen vehicle. There also was a firearm and other valuable items. There are no suspects.

VEHICLE DAMAGE

On Thursday Jan. 2, an officer was dispatched to a report of a hit and run that had happened the previous day in the 200 block of Southeast Highway 224. The victim told police that the vehicle had been hit by another vehicle while in a parking lot. There are no suspects.

OTHER INCIDENTS

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Northeast Pierce Street at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1. A woman told the officer that a tenant had taken her fence down from in front of the room she rents. The tenant told the officer that he hadn’t removed the fence. The officer also was told that the woman did not rent the area where the fence had been. It was unclear to the officer whether a crime had occurred. He noted that it seemed like a civil issue.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 200 block of Northeast Pierce Street at 12:46 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3. The officers told everyone involved to “quiet down and try to stay apart.”
