Information for this column comes from Sandy Police Department public records. The Sandy Police Department provides service in Estacada. Officers recently filed reports on the following incidents.


On Friday, Feb. 14, a woman told police someone had unexpectedly dropped off two sick puppies at her neighbor’s house in the 33700 block of Southeast Coupland Road. One of the puppies died, and the other was ill. The neighbor didn’t know who had left the puppies there. Police will contact a suspect whose license plate number was obtained.


Richard A. Perry, 49, of La Grande, was arrested in the 100 block of Northeast Main Street at 12:11 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. There was a Union County Oregon Parole detainer and an active Washington state fugitive warrant out for Perry’s arrest. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

On Sunday, Feb. 16, a resident of the 700 block of Northeast Edgehill Drive told police that his 2000 KTM motorcycle was stolen from the back of his truck sometime during the night. The motorcycle was entered as stolen in law enforcement databases as stolen. The next day, the motorcycle was recovered after a vehicle crashed in Gresham while trying to elude a Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputy. Ryan W. Perkins, 32, of Portland was arrested on suspicion of the theft. Charges will be referred to the District Attorney’s office.


On Sunday, Feb. 16, a woman told police her mother’s home in the 1500 block of Northeast Rockwell Drive had been broken into. The home was for sale and unoccupied. An oven, a washing machine, a dryer, a Craftsman miter saw, a shop-vac and an electric lawn mower were stolen from the building. Police gathered evidence from the scene and are investigating.


Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Northeast Hill way at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12. No one at the scene had visible injuries or wished to press charges. One of the persons involved had left before the officers arrived. As she had active warrants out for her arrest, police searched for her but couldn’t find her.


Police entered a 15-year-old boy as a runaway in the Law Enforcement Data System and the National Crime Information Center on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The boy’s father told police the boy had left home on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and had not returned.


Gasoline was stolen from a mail truck at the Estacada Post Office sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 and 5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. An estimated $350 worth of damage was done to the vehicle. Police do not have any suspects.

The outboard motor from a boat was stolen sometime between Thursday, Jan. 30, and Tuesday, Feb. 11. The boat was on consignment to be sold in the 100 block of Northwest Wade Street.

At 3:36 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, a resident of the 1300 block of Northeast Gardiner Street told police several tools had been stolen from his truck while it was parked in his driveway overnight. There are no suspects.
