Polzin elected chairman of budget committees

Jerry Polzin was elected chairman of the Estacada City Budget Committee and Urban Renewal Agency Budget Committee on Monday, May 5.

Former Estacada Mayor Bob Austin was elected vice chairman.

Committees approve city, urban renewal budgets

The Estacada City Budget Committee approved the proposed $7,335,144 2014-15 city budget during a meeting on Monday, May 5.

A public hearing on the budget will be held Monday, June 9, before the City Council decides on final approval of the budget on Monday, June 23.

The Urban Renewal Agency Budget Committee approved the proposed $2,376,700 2014-15 Urban Renewal Agency budget. A public hearing and final approval of the Urban Renewal Agency Budget is scheduled for June 9.

Free art classes offered at Milo McIver State Park

Local artists will teach free art classes for all ages and skill levels in Milo McIver State Park in May.

An introduction to painting class will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 10, in the Cedar Shelter. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own painting supplies, as only a limited amount of tools will be available at the class. Learn about Native American Basketry and Wood Carving from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 17, in the Cedar Shelter.
