New tip leads search for accused murderer to Iowa
Authorities who have been searching for a man accused of murdering a Clackamas County employee on Feb. 6 have new leads from Iowa and are offering a $16,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Dirck Morgan White, 41.
A witness at the scene of the murder at Southeast Amisigger Road and Highway 224 near Boring saw White shoot Clackamas County Weighmaster Grady Waxenfelter, 47, in the head around 11 a.m. The married father of three died at the scene.
The Iowa State Patrol received a 911 call April 5 from a citizen who spotted White's 2004 Mercedes E320 sedan traveling on Highway 330 near Des Moines, Iowa, and reported that someone had fired a gun from the car.
Investigators would like to talk to the person who called 911 or anyone else who has seen White or his car, which has a Washington state license plate ANB7070. White is described as a Hispanic man, 6 feet tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
White should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said, and anyone with information should call the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Tip Line at 503-723-4949 or leave a tip online at http://web3.clackamas.us/contact/tip.jsp.
At the time of the shooting, White was working as a delivery driver for O'Malley Brothers Trucking in Estacada. Waxenfelter reportedly had stopped White while he was hauling wood in an O'Malley truck to let him know he didn't have a license plate on the truck. Investigators believe White may have thought Waxenfelter was a police officer. White has an active warrant for his arrest out of Pierce County, Wash. on a weapons charge. White is also wanted for questioning in a child rape case.
