The Estacada Community Center has put out an urgent request for volunteers in the wake of the unexpected departure of its director and kitchen manager, Kelly Williams.

Volunteer Coordinator John McAdoo called for volunteers to help the center put on its scheduled dinner Saturday, Aug. 16.

Help is needed cooking, serving and cleaning for the event.

As the center searches for a new director, McAdoo said the center is in urgent need of volunteers to cook, help in the kitchen and to deliver food to the homebound with the Meals On Wheels program.

“If you can spare a few hours a week this would be a great benefit to the seniors of our community,” McAdoo wrote in an email.

If you are interested in volunteering, call McAdoo at 503-784-3691.

Volunteers must pass a background check.
