Members of the Estacada Fire District and the Estacada First Baptist Church are organizing a ride to honor Grady Waxenfelter on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Waxenfelter, a Clackamas County Weighmaster, was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop on Highway 224 and Amisigger Road on Feb. 6.

Dirck Morgan White, the murder suspect, is still at large.

Waxenfelter was an elder at the church and a motorcycle and car enthusiast.

The Aug. 16 memorial ride will follow a 3.5-hour, 148-mile-course.

Motorcycles, classic and custom cars and trucks are invited to participate. There is no entry fee.

Participants will gather at 9 a.m. at Latus Motors, 870 E. Berkeley Street, Gladstone.

Waxenfelter’s widow, Tedra, is expected to give a short speech.

The ride will end at Viewpoint Restaurant and Lounge, where registered participants will be served a free lunch.

Any donations will be given to the charity of the Waxenfelter family's choice.
