Behavioral Health clinic receives new name

The Clackamas County Behavioral Health urgent walk-in clinic recently acquired a new name. The center, located at 11211 S.E. 82nd Ave., formerly known as Centerstone, will now be known as Riverstone.

With the name change, leaders in the county's Health, Housing and Human Services Department hope to enhance the community's understanding of the mental health recovery process. The new name is based upon the idea that people, like river stones, are shaped by their life experiences.

"One in three Americans are challenged by mental illness," said Richard Swift, Clackamas County's Health, Housing and Human Services Director. "This number expands when families are included. Centers like Riverstone exist to help us begin, and to maintain, the path to wellness for ourselves and our families."

Riverstone offers a variety of crisis and stabilization services, including peer support, case management, health insurance enrollment, crisis intake assessment, referral to medical services and brief therapy.

For more information, call the clinic at 503-655-8585.
