EVENTS

Fall Festival

There will be a fall festival from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at River Mill Elementary School, 850 N. Broadway St. Admission is free, and the event will feature games, a bounce house, prizes, food, music and raffles.

Harvest Festival

The Estacada Harvest Festival is scheduled from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, in downtown Estacada. The event will feature a chili cook off, a pie eating contest, hayrides, a bike contest, live music and pumpkin painting and other crafts. Town Hall Meeting

There will be a town hall meeting to discuss proposed changes to the City of Estacada Charter of 2006. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St.

Garden Club

The Estacada Garden Club meets from 1-3 p.m. the second Thursday of the month in the Flora Room at the Estacada Public Library, 825 N.W. Wade St. Visitors and new members are welcome.

Bible Journaling

Farmers Market

The Estacada Farmers Market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 30, outside Wade Creek House Antiques, 664 N.W. Wade St.

Quilt Club

The Skip-a-Week club meets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Garfield Grange, 33460 S.E. Divers Road. For information, call 503-630-4669.

Spinning Group

The Estacada spinning and fiber arts group meets from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Fridays at Betty Veveiros CPA, 309 S.W. Highway 224.

Coffee with Firefighters

Estacada fire holds a community coffee at 9 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the fire station, 445 S.E. Currin St. The event is an opportunity to meet firefighters and staff, ask questions and learn about the district.

Estacada Library

Loteria Night

The library will host a loteria night from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

Day of the Dead Celebration

The library will host a Day of the Dead celebration from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

A-Z Storytime

A-Z storytime is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon every Wednesday. The event is an opportunity for children ages infant to 4 to learn the alphabet through reading, singing and playing.

Storytime Playgroup

The Me & My Preschool Storytime Playgroup takes place from 10:30 a.m. to noon every Friday.

Lego Club

The Lego club meets from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. from September to December on the third Saturday of the month. Come make amazing LEGO creations with Guru Blair.

City Council

The Estacada City Council meets from 7-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. Call 503-630-8270.

School Board

The Estacada School Board meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Eagle Creek Elementary School, 30391 Highway 211.

COMMUNITY CENTER

Volunteer opportunities

The Center needs volunteers for many different jobs, including Meals on Wheels drivers, drivers to medical appointments, kitchen and dining room help, answering phones and greeting visitors and yard work. Call 503-630-7454 for more information on how to volunteer.

Dinner Dance

There will be a dinner dance fundraiser at the Center on Saturday, Oct. 7. Dinner is served at 5:00 p.m., and music starts around 6 p.m. Admission is $8 for dinner and music, $4 if you come at 6 p.m. for music and dancing. There will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit Meals on Wheels.

Weekday lunches and games

Lunch is served in the center's dining room for all ages at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with full salad bar on Tuesdays and Fridays. Donations are suggested for seniors; lunch is $4 for those under 60. Chicken foot dominoes follows Monday and Thursday lunches. Bingo follows lunch on Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday breakfasts

The center offers a $5 breakfast for all ages at 9 a.m. Wednesdays with a door prize drawing and with pinochle and cribbage following breakfast for those interested. Call 503-630-7454 for bus service to breakfast.

Zumba classes

Zumba classes are held at the center from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday evenings and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. some Saturday mornings. Zumba is $5 per class, or $25 for a monthly pass. Call 503-

Dance Fitness with Susan

Exercise to music for all fitness levels on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with Susan Wagner at the center from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Free Tai Chi classes

Free Tai Chi classes for ages 12 and up are held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the center.

Seniors exercise class

Exercise classes for seniors are held at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays at the center.

Tae Kwon Do classes

Tae Kwon Do classes for ages 8 and up are held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays downstairs at the center. Call 503-975-7119 for information and cost.

Weight- loss group

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a weight-loss group open to all ages, meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings at the center.

Library, ping-pong, puzzles and computer solitaire

Drop in to the Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Alcoholics Anonymous

An Alcoholics Anonymous group meets from 7-8 p.m. every Thursday at the Assembly of God Church, 478 N.W. Wade St. Another AA group meets from 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at St. Aloysius Parish, 297 N.W. Broadway St.

Narcotics Anonymous
