jennie B. Milnichuk

Jan. 21, 1922-Jan. 4, 2013

Jennie B. Milnichuk, a resident of Grace House in Estacada, died Friday, Jan. 4. She was 90.

No service will be held at this time.

Jennie was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Frank and Mary (Petrosasky) Barachofsky, Russian and Polish immigrants.

Jennie married John Adam Milnichuk in 1942. She began working at the U.S. Navy Aviation Supply in Philadelphia during World War II and remained there until her retirement in 1988.

She moved to the Boring-Sandy area in 1995 to be near her son, John.

Jennie believed in helping those less fortunate and was active in community service. She volunteered at the Sandy Action Center for several years before her health began to decline.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband in 1974. She is survived by her son, John Milnichuk of Boring; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Sandy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

George Bellek

July 2, 1926-Jan. 1, 2013

Estacada resident George Bellek died at his home Tuesday, Jan. 1. He was 86.

A graveside service was held at Willamette National Cemetery Tuesday, Jan. 8.

George Kenneth Bellek was born July 2, 1926, in Amedon, N.D., to Mike and Dora (Lawson) Bellek. He moved with his family to Sandy, Oregon when he was 11 and graduated from Sandy High School in 1944.

After high school, George was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country. After his honorable discharge, he moved to the Estacada area and worked for Acme Timber Company.

On July 3, 1954, George married Lillian Dygert in Vancouver, Wash. In 1964, he went to work for Cascade Utilities and worked there until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed his farm during retirement.

George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian Bellek; one niece; and two nephews.

Estacada Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Douglas Wayne Rancourt

Nov. 4, 1949-Dec. 21, 2012

Estacada resident Douglas Wayne Rancourt died Friday, Dec. 21. He was 63.

A celebration of his life was held Sunday, Dec. 30, at the Eagle Creek Grange.

Doug was born Nov. 4, 1949, in Vancouver, Wash., to Henry and Billie Rancourt. He was raised in Portland.

For most of his working career, Doug was a truck driver. He worked at JB Hunt trucking company until his death. On Nov. 7, 1992, he married Pauline Carter.

Doug enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and karaoke. He loved his family and had a good sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Rancourt of Estacada; daughters, Shannon Dodd of Estacada, Betti Carter of Brightwood and Tara Abbott of Rome, Ga.; son, Mac Carter of Estacada; sister, Nancy Fern of Capistrano, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.

Estacada Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements.

Barbara Anne Tenbush

July 6, 1931-Dec. 31, 2012

Estacada resident Barbara Tenbush died Monday, Dec. 31. She was 81.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Estacada Funeral Chapel. A private burial will follow at Willamette National Cemetery.

Barbara was born July 6, 1931 in Squim, Wash. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Fullerton of Estacada, JoAnne Applebee of Estacada, Kathleen Wong of Haines, Ore., Ida Tenbush of Estacada and Mary Wilson; of Haines, Ore.; sons, Frank Tenbush of Estacada, Jerry Tenbush of Portland, John Hegge of Yakima, Wash.; 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Estacada Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements.
