Watershed Celebration

The Clackamas River Basin Council will hold its annual Watershed Celebration from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15 at the Tumwater Room in the Museum of the Oregon Territory, 211 Tumwater Drive, Oregon City. This year’s theme is “A Love Letter to the Clackamas.” The event includes a salmon dinner, silent and live auctions, photo presentation, awards for volunteers and partners, and an election for a Tributary Property Owner stakeholder group representative. Wade Creek Clinic Awareness Day

The Estacada High School Youth Advisory Council is holding an Awareness Day for Wade Creek Clinic 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, May 16. Interested community members are invited to tour the facility and enjoy snacks and goodies while learning about the school and community-based clinic. The clinic is next to the high school at 535 N.E. Sixth Ave.

John Rankin to play Farmers Market

Blues, rock, soul and funk Musician John Rankin will play at the Estacada Farmers Market Saturday, March 17. To hear samples of his music, find him on Facebook or visit johnrankin.bandcamp.com. The market is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at Northwest Third and Broadway.

State of the arts

The Clackamas County Arts Alliance Advisory Council invites the public to a conversation of the state of the arts in Estacada 3:30-5 p.m., Thursday, June 12, in the Flora Room of the Estacada Public Library. Participants will share their experiences and to discuss how the Arts Alliance may assist. There will be light refreshments. Trash 2 Treasure: Small Furniture Workshop

Learn how to give new life to a tired piece of furniture with paint using distressing techniques, painters tape and stencils during this workshop from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at the Wade Creek House, 664 N.W. Quilt club meets

ESTACADA PUBLIC LIBRARY

Calligraphy Project

The William Stafford Calligraphy Project exhibit of Stafford’s calligraphic renderings, poems and writings will be on display at the Estacada Public Library from May 7 through June 4. The exhibit will be traveling throughout Oregon in 2014 in honor of Stafford’s 100th birthday. Stafford is a former poet-laureate of Oregon. The show is presented by the Portland Society for Calligraphy. Computer tutorials

The Estacada Public Library offers weekly one-on-one computer tutorials on computer skills such as how to use email, Microsoft Word, social media, online security, eReaders, etc. Half-hour tutorials may be scheduled between 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays. The Estacada Community Center offers free breakfast 8 a.m. to noon the third Saturday of each month.

FUNDRAISER

Run Wild for Ron

A 5K run/walk fundraiser will be held for Ron Morfitt at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 1 at Eagle Fern Park. Registration is $25 and there is a $5 parking fee. PFLAG

Grief Share

The Grief Share group helps those who have lost a loved one find comfort and acceptance and to find the joy that remains in their lives.

AA offers hope

The Estacada friendship group of AA offers hope and help for the alcoholic who still suffers. Meetings are held from 7-8:30 p.m. every Monday and Friday at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church Community Hall, 297 N. Al-Anon and Alateen

If someone’s drinking bothers you, Al-Anon and Alateen can help.

Celebration coordinators are seeking assistance with set-up and décor 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 26; street preparation 7-9 a.m. Saturday, July 27; children’s art booth set-up 8-10 a.m. Saturday, July 27; children’s art activities 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. Saturday, July 27; manning the volunteer check-in booth 10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 27 and clean-up 10-11 p.m. Saturday, July 27.
