Bryant and Johnson pace the Rangers with fifth and fourth place finishes respectively

by: PHOTO BY LOREN NIBBE - Exchange student Kieran Bryant has been a pleasant surprise for the Rangers this season, finishing in fifth place last weekend.With their eyes steadying on the district meet that is quickly approaching, the Estacada cross country teams took to their home course last weekend for one of the last meets of the season.

On the boys side, exchange student Kieran Bryant led with a fifth-place finish, but a tight pack of Rangers that finished within 1:20 of each other led Estacada to a third-place tie with Molalla. Behind Bryant were Kyle Beguelin, Jonathan Jury, Nathan Lusher and Brendan Fordyce.

On the girls side, Mariah Johnson paced the Rangers with a fourth-place finish in a time of 21 minutes flat, which tied her season best.

The Rangers finished behind Molalla and La Salle on the girls side, with a total of 74 points. The other scoring runners for Estacada were Kayla Searls, Kara Kammers, Nicole Wagner and Madeline Dinsdale.
