At its latest meet, the Estacada High School equestrian team had strong showings from some of its members.

The team competed Friday, March 1 through Sunday, March 3, and earned first-place finishes in a few different events.

Courtney Helgeson took first in driving, and Danielle Goodrich came out on top in dressage. A team consisting of Helgeson, Breanne Stout, Kaylynn Griffin and Jessica Christenson won the in-hand obstacle relay. Another EHS team with Kara Kammers, Danielle Moser, Kaitlyn Mixon and Angela Krueger came in third.

Goodrich took second in hunt seat over fences. Along with Griffin, Krueger, Moser, Krystal Strickland and Sabrina Moore, Goodrich took third in freestyle.

Griffin and Stout placed second in two man birangle. Helgeson took second place in in-hand trial and Griffin got second in keyhole. Stout placed second in figure eight.

Kammers earned third place in reining and was part of a team that took third in the Canadian flag race event, along with Griffin, Christenson and Krueger. Christenson won third in individual flags and Moser took that spot in the working rancher category.

The team’s next meet is scheduled for April 6-8.
