Third arrest made in Guzman case

Police continue to investigate 2011 Forest Grove murder


A third arrest has been made in the case of the 2011 murder of Luis Guzman in Forest Grove.

Detectives with the Forest Grove, Tigard and Keizer police departments arrested Marco Saldana, 32, of Keizer, Ore., Dec. 31 on a warrant for perjury in connection to the case.

Police arrested Daniel Serna, 33, in Salem in December on a warrant for one count of murder and one count of tampering with a witness.

In March 2012, police arrested 19-year-old Niaz Mohammed Khoshnaw of Beaverton for Guzman’s murder when few details about the death or how Guzman spent his final hours were known.

Guzman was found shot to death on Nov. 14, 2011 outside his residence in the 2200 block of B Street in Forest Grove.

Police are not releasing any more information about the role of each suspect in the crime at this time. Additional future arrests are possible, according to Capt. Mike Herb of the Forest Grove Police Department.
