New Curves owner hosts open house

Gretchen Keefer of Gaston, who purchased the Forest Grove Curves franchise from Dan and Juli Wilson in May, is hosting an open house Wednesday, July 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. The business is at 1929 21st Ave. in Forest Grove.

Attendees will be able to take advantage of 10-minute chair massages, taste Curves snack bars in various flavors and have their body mass index checked during the four-hour event.

Keefer said the women-only fitness center, which touts a 30-minute, full body workout, is "getting some new people coming and some former people coming back" since changing hands two months ago. The local Curves is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. It closes those days between 1:30 and 3:30 as well.

These wetlands are home to northern red-legged frog, chum salmon, peregine falcon and other at-risk wildlife. Volunteers will remove yellow flag iris, English ivy and more.
